People Led Policy Panel call for Participants: Help Shape the Future of Adult Social Care support in Scotland
Inclusion Scotland is looking for up to 15 people from across the country to join its People-led Policy Panel – a unique initiative placing lived experience at the heart of shaping adult social care support in Scotland.
The People-led Policy Panel, which is run by Inclusion Scotland and funded by the Scottish Government, brings together people who draw on social care support to co-produce improvements in policy and practice. It ensures those most affected by decisions are directly involved in making them.
April O’Neil, Inclusion Scotland’s People Led Policy Co-ordinator said:
“We are looking for 15 people from across Scotland who represent all the different ways that people use adult social care support to join our Panel.”
Panel members meet every two months to explore key issues like eligibility criteria, advocacy, and transitions. They work closely with Scottish Government officials and other decision-makers to influence real change. In between formal meetings they meet for the purpose of peer support.
We are looking for new members to contribute to our discussions and decision-making. Members can expect to:
- Share personal experiences of accessing, or struggling to access, adult social care support
- Put forward ideas and solutions to issues raised about adult social care support.
- Respond to policy proposals from government and other organisations
- Help develop a new, more inclusive way of designing policies and services in Scotland
- Help to design new ways of ensuring supported people and carers have their rights respected and needs met.
Applications are open until 16 July 2025 to anyone aged 18 or over who currently uses, has used, or has tried and failed to access adult social care in Scotland – including unpaid carers.
