UN Human Rights and Poverty – What is your experience?

By admin | Engagement, News, Poverty, Rights and Legal Issues, Social Security | Comments are Closed | 24 August, 2018 | 0

In November the United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, Professor Philip Alston, will undertake an official visit to the UK at the invitation of the UK Government. His visit will focus on the links between poverty and the realization of human rights in the United Kingdom. The Special Rapporteur is inviting all individuals and organisations in the United Kingdom working on issues related to poverty and human rights to provide input for the preparation of his visit.

Inclusion Scotland will be submitting evidence to the UN Special Rapporteur. Have you got experience of austerity, universal credit, sanctions, mandatory reconsideration or loss of your benefits? If you have experiences of any of these or other experiences of poverty we want to hear from you so we can fairly represent disabled people’s experiences of poverty in Scotland.

Last day to submit your experiences is Friday 7 September 2018.

Please tell us about your experiences by emailing info@inclusionscotland.org or call 0131 281 0860 and leave a message. Your message will be returned week beginning Monday 3 August. All accounts will be anonymous, we will delete any personal details, e.g. name or email address, immediately.
