New survey launched: Tell us how Self Directed Support cuts are affecting you
Inclusion Scotland has launched a new survey to gather first-hand experiences of how cuts to Self Directed Support (SDS) – particularly Direct Payments – are affecting disabled people across Scotland. If you receive Direct Payments through Option 1 of SDS, we would like to hear from you.
We know that changes to SDS budgets are already having a real impact on people’s lives. These include reduced independence, fewer opportunities to take part in community life and increased pressure on unpaid carers. To understand the scale of what is happening and strengthen our challenge to these cuts, we need evidence from the people most affected.
Your experience will help us build a clear picture of how Direct Payment packages are being reduced, frozen or restricted, and what this means for day to day life. The findings will be used in our policy and influencing work with national and local decision makers.
Who can take part?
- Disabled people who receive Direct Payments through Option 1
- Carers, family members or personal assistants supporting someone who receives Direct Payments
