Internship overview

This internship will support our work by helping us reconnect with individuals who haven’t been in touch for a while. The intern will review our database, contact people we support to check in, and update records to ensure our information is accurate and current. They will work closely with our Support Service team and gain hands-on experience in administration, data handling, and communicating with supported people. This is a well-defined project with a clear start and end point, offering a supportive environment to build confidence, develop organisational and communication skills, and gain insight into how a Disabled People’s Organisation delivers person-centred services.

Main duties and tasks

· Review the Support Service database to identify individuals who have not been in contact for a while.

· Contact supported people by phone, email, or letter to check in, confirm their current situation, and ask whether they still require our support

· Update and maintain accurate records, including contact details, communication preferences, and outcomes of check-ins.

· Flag any concerns or follow-up actions to the Support Service Team.

· Support the team by organising information, tidying and structuring data, and ensuring records follow our accessibility and confidentiality guidelines.

· Work closely with Support Service colleagues to ensure consistent and person-centred communication.

· Contribute to basic administrative tasks that support the smooth running of the service (for example logging activity, preparing simple reports, filing digital information).

· Participate in team meetings, supervision sessions, and training as required.
