We are delighted to have heard the news that just before Xmas the first person to have held one of our Parliamentary intern roles got word that they had been successful in applying for a full time job in a Scottish civil service department. Catriona Johnson, former parliamentary intern to James Dornan MSP, will be starting this week at the Student Awards Agency Scotland as a case worker, supporting students with more complicated student support applications. She is obviously ecstatic at getting such great news, especially the day before Xmas Eve, and looking forward to getting started!
Cat said “I wouldn’t have gotten this job without the experience I gained through the internship” and “I’m really over the moon”.
We are too, well done Cat! A great result demonstrating the value in creating opportunities for disabled people to demonstrate their employability through projects such as our internship scheme!
