Our highly sought after Parliamentary Internships have returned! If you have an interest in research, politics and making a difference to people across Scotland then we may have the opportunity for you. Our internships offer disabled people a chance to see the inner workings of the Scottish Parliament, get a foot in the door with a political party or elected member, and take ownership of a piece of research they will write a report on. Topics on research will vary between roles, but each will be highly valuable to the work of the MSP. There will also be opportunities to network with the other interns in the Parliament and outwith, and access to training and all the usual Inclusion Scotland internship support. You can read about former interns’ time in Parliament by clicking here.
Inclusion Scotland believes that decisions affecting society are best made when our the people who make them reflect the population. It is estimated that one in five of the working age population is disabled, but this is not reflected in elected office. Internships are a great way of encouraging disabled people to get experience in Parliament and possibly pursue elected office in the future.

We can also advise on adjustments that might be helpful to you for submitting the application.
Inclusion Scotland will do an initial shortlisting of applications and invite successful candidates to a first stage interview.
